IIT Roorkee (Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee)

It is a public technical university and non-governmental organisation. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has 23 academic departments covering engineering, architecture and planning, sciences, humanities and social sciences, and management programmes. IIT Roorkee has 7 academic centres including Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Nanotechnology.

The main slogan of the University is ‘Nothing can be achieved without hard work’. It is affiliated by UGC (The University Grants Commission). Formerly it was known as University of Roorkee (1949-2001), then in 2001 it was declared the seventh IIT.
