About IIT Kanpur
IIT Kanpur is an autonomous engineering institute and one of the first Indian institutes of Technology established in Uttar Pradesh. Under the Institutes of Technology act, IIT Kanpur was declared an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.
IIT Kanpur has collaborations and tie-ups with some of the top International universities and institutions for many academic and research activities. KIAP (Kanpur Indo-American Programme) was created with the assistance of nine US research universities.
